IndieSpace Together is a community-powered gathering space for artists to connect and recharge. Whether you’re looking to meet someone new, hang out, or get some work done, there is room for all.
The September IndieSpace Together will focus on “Arrival and Welcoming”!
We’ll incorporate a few new elements into IndieSpace Together under this theme.
From 1-2pm, we’ll begin the day with a Quiet Hour, creating a calmer, lower-volume space for anyone who prefers it. Our more social coworking and connection time will begin at 2pm!
Attendees have the option to join others for communal food and drinks from 5-7pm. It’s a chance to meet the new IndieSpace staff, connect with other community members, and spend some time together. We’ll have a few optional icebreakers around for anyone who feels like meeting someone new!

Cowork at the West Village Rehearsal Co-Op - 1pm-7pm
The Flow of the Day
1pm - 2pm | Quiet Hour
Ease into the afternoon with a quieter, low-pressure work environment. Work, read, or settle in with a beverage or a snack. We’ll also have a small basket of sensory supplies, including earplugs, for anyone who wants them.
This is meant to be more of a “quiet hour” ahead of the networking time later. Connection is still absolutely welcome; we’ll just keep conversation low during this time so everyone can enjoy IndieSpace Together in any way that works for them.
2pm - 5pm | Coworking & Connection
This time is dedicated to coworking alongside other artists in the IndieSpace community with plenty of opportunities for chatting, making connections, sharing resources, etc. Bring your laptop, script, to-do list, or anything else you’re working on.
5pm - 7pm | Food & Community
We’ll end the afternoon together over communal food and drinks. It’s a chance to meet the new IndieSpace staff, connect with other community members, and spend some time together. We’ll also have a simple, low-pressure activity for anyone who wants to meet someone new.
Potluck throughout the day
Bring something to share if you can (totally optional). It’s always a simple, generous way to take care of each other and spark conversation.
Why This Gathering Matters
Every time we host an IndieSpace Together, we’re reminded: the most important resource we have is each other.
Indie theater can be isolating. The work is demanding. The path isn’t always clear. But when we make space to come together - to share a room, a meal, a conversation - it shifts something.
This gathering is designed to be flexible, welcoming, and rooted in the kind of connection that keeps our creative community strong.
As you may know, we’re building our new space in Hell’s Kitchen with this exact kind of gathering in mind – a place where artists don’t just work, but connect, share resources, and build something collectively.
Events like this help us practice that future now, shaping a space that truly reflects what our community needs to thrive.
