IndieSpace Together on June 18 – Join the Paperwork Party!
IndieSpace Together is a community-powered gathering space for artists to connect, recharge, and grow. Whether you’re coming to get some work done, meet new people, or just be in the mix, it’s a great opportunity.
IndieSpace Together
Thursday, June 18 | 1pm–7pm
West Village Rehearsal Co-Op
We are thrilled to be joined by Pamela Capalad and Dyalekt at June’s IndieSpace Together.
They will be leading any artists who want to participate in a Paperwork Party!
If you hate dealing with paperwork, if you get anxious just thinking about it, you’re not alone. It’s not you, it’s the paperwork. The system is not designed for us and paperwork is another obstacle to navigating it. No wonder we have so much anxiety and fear around paperwork. If it feels like there is a lot at stake, there is. So much of getting personal financial tasks done revolves around paperwork and forms, which is why it’s time we had a paperwork party, because community always beats capitalism.
Join us for any portion of the day that is best for you!
Come to get some work done around fellow creatives, tackle a paperwork project that you’ve been putting off, or spend time connecting with other artists, producers, writers, and collectives.
The Flow of the Day
1pm – 5pm | Coworking
Settle in, open your laptop or notebook, and spend time working alongside other artists. This is a time for quiet focus, casual chats, or something in between! Bring your noise-canceling headphones if you need concentrated work time.
3pm – 6pm | Paperwork Party led by Pamela Capalad and Dyalekt
Come with paperwork (bring your laptop!) you’ve been dreading to complete, even though you know it would level up your finances. We’ll bring the safe space and expert guidance. Come as you are, bring what you have, and leave with more clarity and fewer loose ends.
During this time, Pamela and Dyalekt will be providing a short presentation on how a paperwork party will work. You are welcome to take part, or you can continue to work.
Please note that this portion of the afternoon may be a bit lively as Pamela and Dyalekt share guidance and participants work alongside one another, so if you’re planning to stay in focused work mode, we encourage you to bring soundproof or noise-canceling headphones.
6pm – 7pm | Networking + Connection Time
We’ll shift into a more social space for conversations, idea-sharing, and meeting new people (or reconnecting with familiar faces). It’s a space for people to chat about what they’re working on and how we can support, amplify, and celebrate one another.
Potluck throughout the day
Bring something to share if you can (totally optional). It’s always a simple, generous way to take care of each other and spark conversation.

Why This Gathering Matters
Every time we do this, we’re reminded: the most important resource we have is each other.
Indie theater can be isolating. The work is demanding. The path isn’t always clear. But when we make space to come together - to share a room, a meal, a conversation - it shifts something.
This gathering is designed to be flexible, welcoming, and rooted in the kind of connection that keeps our creative community strong.
As you may know, we’re building our new space in Hell’s Kitchen with this exact kind of gathering in mind – a place where artists don’t just work, but connect, share resources, and build something collectively.
Events like this help us practice that future now, shaping a space that truly reflects what our community needs to thrive.
The Connection Lottery
By attending, you’re entered in the IndieSpace Connection Lottery for a chance to win $500 to support your artistic journey. The recipient will be chosen at The Big Give 2026 in December.
Being present is part of the process, and this is our way of celebrating that!
