Celebrating our Anniversary

We want to thank everyone who attended our recent anniversary celebration and made it such a great event. We planned the evening with the hope that it could bring more joy to our lives and the artists we serve. It certainly did. We treasure the opportunity to come together as a community.

If you would like to read about what IndieSpace has done over the last year, please read this post: IndieSpace Highlights Since Our Wedding.

And we wanted to take a moment to thank all the wonderful companies and individuals supporting this event and IndieSpace’s work! We are grateful to the following folks and encourage you to support their work.

Tess and the entire team at Culture Lab LIC for hosting us in their space.

We were blown away by the incredible collages that Scooter LaForge made. These pieces helped to commemorate our ‘Paper’ Anniversary. They beautifully capture indie theater, the people that make it, and the things that inspire our community.

The Muse’s fantastic artists and circus entertainers.

The enthralling Nancy NoGood for performing and being our emcee.

The Brass Queens for keeping us dancing.

The beautiful flash tattoos from Minty.Acid!

Shelby and the Inclusive Communication Services team for providing ASL Interpretation.

The IndieSpace Board of Directors: Raquel Almazan, Joseph Auld, Brian Berk, Veshonte Brown, Andrew Clarke, Brea Clemons, Dechelle Damien, Maya Quetzali Gonzalez, Pamela Kupper, Paul Leibowitz, Marty Linsky, Samuel Morales Jr., Siobhan O’Neill, and Erez Ziv.

Special appreciation for our planning committee - Brea, Lindsey, Maya, Nathan, Sarah, Siobhan, and Veshonte.

Brandon, Lola, Maddy, and Melissa, for providing day-of event support!

Jesse Kornbluth for taking all of the tremendous images featured in this post!

We were incredibly touched by the toast that James Clements from What Will the Neighbors Say? gave to Randi and the whole IndieSpacce team. We work really hard to show up for the community in an authentic way, and to have our efforts recognized by the artists we serve is truly the best gift. Thank you for the kind words and for the incredible gift of theater you give all of us!

To the artists we serve. We were amazed and inspired by the number of indie theater artists who attended the event. We are so grateful for you. Thank you for trusting us and believing in us as stewards of your resources. We hope you keep going. We believe in you. We love you!
