The Big Give 2022 - Gratitude and Love

We continue to be filled with gratitude, love, and delight after The Big Give 2022. Last week we shared a post with all of the Pay Your People grant recipients. You can view that here!

We wanted to take a moment to thank some of the amazing organizations and people who are a critical part of IndieSpace and The Big Give. They worked to ensure the event was a success and are dedicated to supporting indie theater artists.

We are so lucky to have a phenomenal community of sponsors, volunteers, and colleagues!

- Our appreciation and eternal thanks to the Howard Gilman Foundation for the generous support that allowed us to increase the awarded grants this year to $55,000. We are honored to receive funds from a foundation that clearly understands the power of the arts to transform lives and the value of the indie theater community.

- Tito’s Handmade Vodka for sponsoring our bar – each and every year. We love you, Tito’s!

- The Chelsea Factory for making The Big Give feel so comfortable and warm. You have been an amazing partner this year. Thank you to Lauren Turner Kiel and everyone at the Chelsea Factory for hosting us!

- The IndieSpace Board of Directors: Raquel Almazan, Joseph Auld, Brian Berk, Veshonte Brown, Andrew Clarke, Brea Clemons, Dechelle Damien, Maya Quetzali Gonzalez, Pamela Kupper, Paul Leibowitz, Marty Linsky, Samuel Morales Jr., Siobhan O’Neill, and Erez Ziv.

- Special thanks to Dechelle Damien, Pamela Kupper, and Austin Lucas, for the tremendous extra support. Dechelle helped at the front desk to check people attendees in and with the check writing process. Pamela created the beautiful lighting for The Big Give. Austin provided amazing help throughout the evening.

- Kimberly and Kim of Inclusive Communication Services for ASL Interpretation.

- Najah Imani Muhammad, our incredible host, and emcee who brought wonderful energy to the Zoom and event.

- We absolutely loved the mid-event performance by NYC’s Vintage Diva Deluxe, Plasma

- John Phillip Faienza was the Streaming Producer and Technician for the event. And Brian Strelko was the Zoom producer. The Zoom program went so smoothly, and we are grateful for your support and technical expertise.

 - Stephanie and Bianca - the superb volunteer bartenders who kept us hydrated all evening.

 - Thanks to Bill and Marliese from NPOC Services and Justin Clark from Social Change Consulting, who provided fantastic help behind the scenes.

 - Lovely photos by Benjamin Spradley. We’ll share a post with additional photos from the evening soon.

 - We also are happy to share some of the photos that you took that night. If you would like to share a photo to be posted in our album - please email it to communications@indiespace.org.
