NYC Mental Health Offerings for October 2025
Hi Friends,
As the nights start to get longer and Halloween costume ideas start to take shape (I’m leaning toward Claudia from Interview with the Vampire), I’ve been thinking a lot about rituals. Not the big, ceremonial kind. Just the small, meaningful things we do each day that help us feel grounded and connected.
You probably already have a few without even realizing it. It could be stopping at your favorite coffee shop while walking your dog in the morning, or doing the NYT Mini Crossword while you wait for the train. These little moments can act like anchors — quiet reminders that no matter what chaos is unfolding around you, you still have something that’s yours.
For me, one of those rituals is pulling a tarot card each morning and asking my ancestors what lesson I should carry with me that day. My card today: The Six of Pentacles as a nudge toward generosity, compassion, and remembering that giving (and receiving) kindness is its own kind of magic.
This month, I invite you to try adding a new ritual to your day or revisiting one that has fallen by the wayside. It doesn’t have to be big. Write a few lines in a journal. Dance to a favorite song before heading to work. Take a breath, claim a moment, and remind yourself: you’re allowed to feel steady, even when the world isn’t.
Wishing you all the best,
Veshonte & the IndieSpace Team
