We are so excited to have you join us virtually for The Big Give 2025 on Thursday, December 4! Please review the instructions below before the event to ensure things go as smoothly as possible.

Please do not share this Zoom link with anyone! If you have a friend who would like to join, please have them RSVP at the Eventbrite link.

When you join the Zoom, please change your Zoom name to include which organization you represent. For example: Veshonte Brown - IndieSpace. You can do this by right-clicking your name in the Zoom window and selecting “Rename”.


During the Pay Your People Lottery Announcement

If you applied for a Pay Your People grant, PLEASE review this website to check to see if your name is on the list.

Did you fill out the application, but do not see your name? Send us an email at hello@indiespace.org, and we’ll look into it. Please forward your receipt from Submittable as this will help expedite the review. 

Please pick ONE person (a CHOSEN REPRESENTATIVE) to represent your company in the event that your name is called during the grant pull.

Each company’s name will be called 3 TIMES at the in-person event and broadcast to the Zoom room. It will simultaneously be typed in the chat IN ALL CAPS. We ask that if your company’s name is called that your chosen representative types in the public chat, the company name and ACCEPT. For example: ABC THEATER ACCEPT. Only the CHOSEN REPRESENTATIVE of the company should type this in the chat.

The Zoom Coordinator will then type your company name and GOT IT to let you know that your acceptance has been noted and confirmed. For example: ABC THEATER GOT IT.

Once the lottery announcements begin, we ask that the chat is kept clear of other text aside from the recipients. Feel free to use emojis to celebrate, but no text so that we can keep the grant program moving.

If you receive one of the Pay Your People grants, you will be contacted on Friday, December 5, to receive your payout!


The Zoom Celebration will be hosted by Najah Imani Muhammad

We are thrilled that Najah Imani Muhammad is back to be our host in the pre-lottery and post-lottery party on Zoom!

Najah will help all Zoom guests feel welcome and facilitate conversation before and after the events!


Give and Gain Market Board

We’ll again be hosting a Give & Gain Market Board at The Big Give! This is a dynamic, community-driven initiative where our indie arts community comes together to share their skills, resources, passions, and needs. It’s all about creating connections, fostering collaboration, and supporting one another outside of traditional systems.

Whether you're offering something you’re passionate about or looking for support, the Give & Gain Market highlights the abundance of talent and generosity within our community.

How It Works:

  • Give: Share your unique skills, services, or resources. These can range from artistic talents like set design or grant writing to something as fun as sharing your favorite flan recipe!

  • Gain: Identify areas where you’d like support, whether it’s creative feedback, help with a project, or even a practical resource like learning to use a new software.

  • Participate Now: Submit your Gives or Gains ahead of the event using the form below to ensure your contributions are added to the board before The Big Give!

What Can You Give or Gain?

Here are some examples to get you inspired.

Gives:

  • Skills: Graphic design, Spanish lessons, projection mapping, or grant writing.

  • Knowledge: Tips for decluttering, how to pickle vegetables, or advice on setting up drip irrigation.

  • Opportunities: A job opening, a collaboration on a new project, or a short-term accountability buddy.

  • Resources: A categorized list of inspirational TED Talks, funding for a community initiative, or access to tools and equipment.

Gains:

  • Skills You’d Like to Learn: Video editing, DaVinci Resolve, or social media management.

  • Support You Need: Advice on cooperatives, connections to theater funders, or someone to help with time management hacks.

  • Resources You’re Looking For: A space to rehearse, a projector for an event, or help with website tweaks.

  • Opportunities You’d Love: Mentorship, introductions to potential collaborators, or funding leads.

  • After The Big Give, IndieSpace will share what was submitted for the Give & Gain Market Board so that Zoom attendees can see everything that’s been shared, write additional notes, and connect with fellow attendees.

The order of the Pay Your People grant pulls will be: Deep Roots, Venues, and Companies/Collectives

  • 9:00pm — FiFi DuBois Performance

After the performance, we will continue with a grant pull for the Connection Lottery, and additional Pay Your People grant pulls for Venues and Companies/Collectives

  • 9:30pm — Anticipated End of Program

  • 9:45pm — Zoom Closes
