When giving to IndieSpace, you’re giving to indie artists across New York City. IndieSpace provides grants for their work, mental health services, living expenses, and the incredible spaces that they call home.
The tiny, black box space in a midtown building where they found their voice; the worn velvet seats in an old tenement building where they watched their friends artistic vision take life; the tiny stage in the back room of a bar where they first made the audience laugh; the rehearsal space in the basement where everything felt like it finally came together: these places are where our community is home.
Not only do your dollars enable those intimate, surprising indie theaters to survive as rents rise and developers come knocking; your donation also ensures the artists themselves can thrive, supporting their mental health, creative practice, and ability to continue making this city their home.
This month, we’re asking you to help us raise $20,000 to support these artists and spaces.
And to celebrate our artistic homes, we’re partnering with artist Brandon Morris to photograph our beloved indie venues around New York City.
Every donor of $20 or more will receive one of these unique postcards to show our gratitude.
But if you commit to making a recurring, monthly donation of at least $5 each month, you will receive a new, original postcard of many of your favorite indie venues multiple times throughout this year as long as your giving is active!
